This "princess" length necklace is a little over 18 inches
long, including the hammered and engraved sterling silver clasp. It is
knotted on nylon thread. The components are polymer clay beads, black
stone chips and Tiger's Eye. Tiger's Eye is formed by the alteration of
crocidolite and consists essentially of quartz colored by iron oxide.
The polymer clay beads have a beauty which, I'm sorry to say, isn't
nearly communicated here. They can appear blue, and at other times they
can appear to be almost a malachite green. The way I crafted each bead
was so half was a mix of black and bronze, separated by bronze and
copper tones from the blue hemisphere into which bronze and copper has
been worked. It is this subtle filtering of the bronze and copper
through the blue which enables it to sometimes
appear green.
